Special Announcement

    Dear Parish Family,

On Sunday June 17, 2007, the congregation voted overwhelmingly to move ahead with our MINISTRY  FOR TOMORROW!  program of nave renovation and property acquisition. We now have a wonderful opportunity to do something together that will enhance our worship and expand ministry in the short term and provide great potential for the future ministry of St. Andrew’s.

This is truly an exciting and busy time for us. I am very grateful for the response of this congregation to the challenges and
opportunities that lie ahead. It is a sign of life and of a determination to have a vibrant ministry together.

Please keep MINISTRY FOR TOMORROW!  in your personal prayers every day and consider ways that you can help as
together we work, pray, and give for the kingdom in the ministry of St. Andrew’s. Thanks and God bless each of you.

Do you like to organize parties and events?  Do you have a knack for bringing folks together?  Well the Fellowship Commission needs you!  We are creating a Fellowship group to help plan, organize, and host fellowship events through the church year.  Some of the events we plan and organize are the Lenten Soup and Salad Dinner, Mother’s Day Tea, Parish Picnic, Cannon’s Game, and more.

Each committee member will pick one event a year to help plan and organize.  Many events will have multiple committee members to support the events.  The commission is looking for volunteers to assist with the following events/functions:

Kitchen Coordinators (2 needed)– takes monthly inventory of kitchen supplies and notify commission on supplies needed, check on equipment to ensure they are functioning properly, and clean out refrigerators.  Lenten Dinners (1 needed) - help the commission chairs purchase rolls and beverages for the dinners and help coordinate events with the sponsoring commissions.  Mothers Day Tea (3 needed) - solicit baked goods and sandwich makers for tea, develop theme for tea and sell tickets, and book entertainment for tea.  Parish Picnic (3 needed) – develop theme, sell tickets, purchase food items and paper goods, organize children’s games, and organize youth/adult fun.  Cannon’s Baseball (1 needed) help create advertising and sell tickets to game.  Fall Potluck (2 needed) – help create develop theme and advertising for dinner and assist in the coordination at the dinner.  Bishops Visit (2) – solicits food for reception, and help with coordination of set up of reception.   Winter Dinner (2) – help develop advertising for dinner, sell tickets and assist in the coordination at the dinner.

Many events are worked in coordination with other ministries and the coffee fellowship falls under our commission.  Please consider volunteering for this commission, we don’t expect anyone to work every single event, just one!!!
