At St. Andrew's, we've worked hard to create a variety of programs for our youth: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ AcolytesAcolytes assist the clergy in leading worship by lighting candles, leading the Processional and Recessional and assisting during Communion. Acolytes also assist with Children's Chapel. Any student in grades 6 through 12 is invited to participate in this ministry. Periodic training will be offered throughout the year. Youth ChoirYouth Choir gives children ages 8-14 an opportunity to participate in worship service through song. Rehearsals are held three Sundays per month from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. ConfirmationConfirmation is the rite in which persons express a mature faith commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. Confirmation classes begin each Fall. All rising 9th graders and older are invited to attend. Contact Lisa Goforth for details. Jr. EYC and Sr. EYC Youth GroupsSt. Andrew's Episcopal Youth Club (EYC) is open to all students in 5th through 12th grade. We offer three different groups for students:1. A 5th and 6th Grade Fellowship 2. For our 7th and 8th Graders Junior High Youth Group 3. The Senior High Group for students in 9th through 12th Grade What is EYC? EYC is a place where students can be socially safe, enjoy healthy relationships, and kick back in a fun environment. EYC is a place where the leaders are able to provide mentoring and guidance without being "pushy." EYC is a place where we discover the power of God working through us (and share with the community through such outreach programs as Work Camp and food collections). Please note that for some of St. Andrew's Youth Group outings permission slips must be signed and brought to the event leaders. Permission slips - once signed - will be good for events through the whole school here. Please download your permission slip here. CAMP FOR SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS
All rising 9th graders and above are able to participate in Work Camp.
Each summer our Work Camp volunteers
travel to different locations and spend one week performing community service.
We've built houses, painted schools, and fixed up trailer homes in such
areas as the Cumberland Plateau region of Tennessee, West Virginia,
Millersville in Maryland. Work Camp gives Senior High students a chance to put
their faith into action.
