Adult Education at St. Andrew's

Christian Education – it’s not just for young people!  Did you know that St. Andrew's makes your spiritual formation as an adult a priority?  Sunday mornings, join us at 11:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room for our weekly Adult Forum.

Other Adult Education offerings include the Wednesday Evening Adult Bible Study Group, which meets in parishioners' homes; the Wednesday Morning Bible Study class, which meets from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the Conference Room.

Seasonal Adult Education events, such as the upcoming "Women's Retreat" are also offered periodically.  Please consider deepening your friendship with God by joining one of these outstanding classes.  Please also take a tour of our 2007 Adult Formation Programs brochure. Thank you!! For more information, please contact the Rev. Lisa Goforth at the Parish Office.

Worship and Education for Children at St. Andrew's

The spiritual growth and development of our children is a major focus here at St. Andrew's.  We offer several programs to help children become aware of the mystery of God’s presence through sacred stories and liturgical action.

  •  For our youngest parishioners, Nursery (ages newborn to two year old) and Toddler (ages 2 to 3 ˝ years) rooms are available during the 10:00 service and the education hour following the 10:00 service.  Children in both rooms are cared for by a paid staff person with the assistance of a rotating roster of parent volunteers.

  • Children’s Chapel meets weekly during the 10:00 a.m. service for children ages 3 ˝ years through the 1st grade.  Through singing, storytelling, and prayer, young children are introduced to worship in the Episcopal Church.  Children’s Chapel runs approximately for the first 20 minutes of Sunday Learning Center.

  • Learning Center is our very special educational program for children ages 3 ˝ years through 1st grade.  Combined with Children’s Chapel, the Learning Center meets from 10:00 a.m. through 12:15 p.m. so that parents can attend 10:00 worship and 11:15 Adult Forum.  Children are grouped by age and grade with appropriate peers and use the “Hands On Bible” curriculum which actively engages children's imaginations while they learn about God.

  • Sunday School for 2nd grade through Senior High meets immediately following the 10:00 a.m. worship service until 12:15 p.m.

  • The elementary grades utilize the “Mustard Seed” curriculum which is biblically based and age appropriate to nurture students’ growing awareness of God.

  • Jr. and Sr. High students use the “Core Belief Bible Study” series. Core is a biblically based study series committed to Biblical depth, relevance to current events, variety and active/interactive learning.

We offer three registration methods for our child/youth education programs.  First, you can use the "On-Line Registration"  - fill out all the information and send it electronically to the Parish Office.  The second method is the "Hard Copy Registration"  - a pdf file that you can complete on your computer, print out, and bring to the Education offices.   The third method is to pick up a registration form in the education wing and fill it out at church.  For more information, please stop by the superintendent's office in the Education wing of the church.

We thank all our wonderful Sunday School teachers who are volunteering to teach Sunday School in 2007/2008. In case you do not have a Teachers' Manual yet, you can also download the manual here.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)

Each summer, adults and teens lead a fun week in the summer with arts, crafts, music, playing, and learning about the life of Jesus.  Please contact the Parish office if you would like to help.
