Home Ministry for Tomorrow Spiritual Declaration
Spiritual Declaration PDF Print E-mail

WHEREAS:
All Christians are called to spread the Gospel wherever we are, however we can,

AND
We are mindful that we have been created in God’s image to serve as stewards over
his creation and of the spiritual and physical gifts with which He has blessed our
congregation,

AND
While current stewardship sustains the ministry of the church on an annual operational
basis, with end of life stewardship providing an endowment to supplement planned
operational budgeting, from time to time special, more focused stewardship responses
are essential to ensure the continuity of our ministry during changes in internal and external
community need,

AND
By the power of the Holy Spirit, the worship, education and outreach programs of St Andrew’s
Episcopal Church are important instruments of witness and ministry to our families and our
neighbors in the Burke community, We the Vestry, Clergy and Lay Committee members of the
Ministry for Tomorrow Program affirm before the Lord and our Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Our conviction that the effects of the many good works begun by generations of St Andrew’s
members will in the future be constrained unless significant enhancements to our worship
space and our physical footprint on Sydenstricker Road can occur,
AND
that the opportunity is at hand to provide a foundation for future ministry by procuring a
new organ and renovating our Nave and Chapel to enhance the worship experience of future
ministers in this place, and to secure property that will permit the growth of both our physical
plant and future ministry.

THEREFORE
After prayerful consideration, and having obtained the assent of the congregation, we are
committed to raising funds necessary to carry out the Ministry for Tomorrow vision over a three
year period, and do commission a Capital Funds Campaign to accomplish it,
And ask for the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the unified efforts of all God’s people in this
place to succeed.

“Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal  life.”
1 TIMOTHY, 6: 18, 19
