Adult Formation

Christian formation deepens our faith through the study and reflection of our scripture, the lives and experiences of previous generations of the faithful who have wrestled with the same questions or issues with which we too wrestle. Formation opportunities include Adult Forums (offered after the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service), Adult Foundations Class (Confirmation Class), and Bible Study Groups (offered on Wednesday and Sunday mornings).

Adult Forum

All adults are invited to join us on Sundays at 11:20 a.m. (following the 10:00 a.m. service) to explore topics related to current events, our faith, scripture, and our church.

Spring 2026

In this Lenten season, we offer a number of opportunities to dive deeper. It is also a particular time to prepare for Baptism, Confirmation, Reaffirmation, and Reception. Bishop Bourlakas, Assisting Bishop, will visit us on November 22nd. We are offering a period of preparation during the forum hour period this Lent. If you attend, you will have sufficient formation to decide if you want to be received, reaffirmed, confirmed, or baptized. The dates are as follows:

March 8 – The Book of Common Prayer
March 15 – Church History 101
March 22 – Prayer
April 12 – Sacraments
May 3 – Ministry of the Baptized
May 17 – The Service of Confirmation (A lesson on the sacramental rites offered)

Lent Soup Suppers

Lent 2026

Lent Soup Suppers are here! We will host “Testimonies of Faith,” where parishioners and others will share a story of faith with the congregation. You may bring soups, sides, or just arrive. Many hands are needed and we encourage you to sign up so that we are able to accommodate everyone.

Please sign up here (http://tiny.cc/soup26) and indicate if you will attend, bring something, and/or help with set-up and clean-up.

Suppers will be held most Sunday nights in Lent (March 1st, 8th, 22nd, 29th) from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Contact Rebecca Umberger through Realm if you have questions.

Faith 250

You are invited to attend our interfaith gatherings with approximately 13 different communities of faith. We are examining the “Scriptures of our country,” in a faithful, communal way as we approach the 250th anniversary of our nation.

February 10 – Burke Presbyterian Church (sign up)
March 10 – Congregation Olam Tikva (sign up)
April 14 – St. Peter’s in the Woods* (sign up) (volunteer)
May 12 – Abiding Presence Lutheran Church (sign up)

*St. Andrew’s is helping with the food and set-up for this event

Bible Study Groups

Wednesday Mornings – 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the Conference Room.

Sunday Mornings – 9:00 a.m. in the Conference Room (following the 8:00 a.m. service). The discussion for this group is  based on that morning’s scripture readings.

Foundations Class (Adult Confirmation)

For adults who wish to join the church through Confirmation or Reception, or those just wanting a closer look at the history and spiritual life of the church, we offer a wonderful foundations class.

This year (2026) we are offering our classes during the Adult Forum hours. Click the Adult Forum drop down above for more information.

Racial Reconciliation with Sacred Ground

Sacred Ground is a film- and readings-based dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race and racism, while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity.

The 10-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.
